Description
The medicine contains an active substance called anastrozole. This belongs to the group of active substances called aromatase inhibitors. The medicine is used to treat breast cancer in women after menopause.
The medicine works by lowering the amount of the hormone estrogen produced by your body. It does this by inhibiting a natural substance (an enzyme) in your body called aromatase.
Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not completely sure.
The medicine should not be given to children.
The usual dose is 1 tablet 1 time daily.
Take the medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. The treatment is a long-term therapy and you may need to take the medicine for several years.
